Montpellier ECU marketplace charter

Preparatory version dated 22 September 2026 — intended for the future marketplace, not to be presented as controls already operating on the current website. Accounts, shared publication and payment collection are not yet open.

Our commitment

MTP aims to enable useful, honest and respectful exchanges between people in two spaces: Goods and Services. French law and applicable European rules provide the operating framework. Users' mandatory rights continue to apply.

Every transaction request is subject to prior approval by MTP moderation to review compliance with this charter and applicable legal requirements. The platform offers no payment before this approval.

This human review covers available information. It is neither legal certification nor a guarantee of quality or proper performance. Sellers remain responsible for accurate listings and lawful activities; MTP retains its own legal obligations.

1. Accounts and listings

  • At launch, the service is restricted to adults. This is a platform rule.
  • Creating an account does not automatically grant publication rights. Manual approval by moderation is required.
  • Users provide accurate information and declare whether they act privately or professionally. Required professional information must be verifiable.
  • An approved account means a platform check has taken place; it is not an official label or bank identity verification.
  • Each listing is reviewed before publication. Changes to the goods, service, price or material terms require a new review.
  • Bypassing a refusal through another account, coded wording, an image, private message or external link is prohibited.

2. Absolute prohibitions on MTP

The following are prohibited in listings, associated exchanges and payment requests:

  • Narcotics, illegal drugs and offers facilitating their trafficking, including under disguised descriptions.
  • Prostitution, paid sexual services, procuring and escort offers with a sexual purpose. The platform also prohibits commercial pornographic content.
  • Any exploitation of people, human trafficking, forced labour or sexual abuse, especially involving minors.
  • Stolen, counterfeit, unlawfully received or pirated goods, or goods offered without the required rights; forged documents and illegally obtained personal data.
  • Fraud, identity theft, phishing, malware and illegal hacking services.
  • Money laundering, fictitious transactions, sales intended to manipulate MTP prices artificially, pyramid schemes and misleading promises of returns.
  • Threats, harassment, unlawful discrimination, incitement to hatred or violence and terrorist content.
  • Dangerous, prohibited or recalled goods that cannot legally be returned to the market.

Agreement between two users, payment in MTP or prior account approval never overrides these prohibitions.

3. Categories excluded at launch

To limit risks and review requirements, MTP initially excludes: weapons, ammunition, explosives, medicines, substances marketed as legal drugs, CBD, tobacco and vaping products, alcohol, live animals, food products, gambling, credit, investments and financial services, and medical or other regulated professional services.

These exclusions are MTP operating choices : they do not mean every sale in these categories would be illegal in France. Any future inclusion would require separate review and a published charter update.

4. Honest and precise offers

The seller must be able to provide the goods or perform the service. Listings must specify the item's condition, known defects, service scope and limitations, price, handover or delivery arrangements and timing. Photographs and creative works must be used with permission.

Professionals must not present themselves as private individuals to avoid their obligations. Information about warranties, withdrawal and dispute resolution is provided according to the seller's status and the nature of the offer. This charter removes no statutory rights.

5. Approval of each order

  • The buyer submits a request for an approved listing.
  • The request remains pending: no payment is offered.
  • Moderation reviews the goods or service, the parties and the request's terms. It may request proportionate clarification, refuse or approve.
  • After approval, the terms and exact amount payable are displayed. A material change cancels previous approval.
  • The planned model is a payment signed directly by the buyer to the seller, with separate remuneration for the platform service. MTP would then verify the public evidence on Base in read-only mode. No collection followed by redistribution of seller funds is open. This process still requires legal assessment and testing before activation.

A request refused before payment incurs no commission. Unresolved doubts about legality prevent approval. Any keyword check is only an aid: it does not replace a human decision.

6. Prices and commission

Planned payment is exclusively in MTP on Base, official contract:

0x50626097a780881d3dFf1Ff97579e6dAF965366B

The platform adds to the seller's price a fixed commission of €0.20 payable by the buyer, converted into MTP. This consumer-facing amount includes taxes applicable to that commission, where relevant.

Example presentation: seller price €2.00 + commission €0.20 = total €2.20 equivalent in MTP, before any separately stated delivery and network fees. No mandatory surcharge may be hidden.

The exchange rate, its source and date, the MTP amount, commission and quote validity period are displayed before commitment. An unavailable or insufficiently reliable rate must not be replaced with an invented estimate: payment remains closed.

A quote does not guarantee the ability to resell MTP for euros. A blockchain transfer does not remove delivery or refund obligations or consumer rights. Refund arrangements and commission handling must be defined in contractual terms before opening.

7. Reports, sanctions and review

Each listing and order must allow reporting using its reference, a description of the issue and, where possible, useful evidence. Reports must remain confidential and must not become a means of public harassment.

Moderation may suspend a listing or payment request during review, remove an offer, request a correction or suspend an account. Decisions are explained and may be submitted for review, subject to legally necessary restrictions. An emergency may require immediate precautionary action.

Requests from competent authorities are handled according to applicable obligations. An internal sanction does not replace court proceedings. Moderation cannot erase a transaction already executed on Base.

8. Respect and personal data

Exchanges must remain courteous, without pressure, threats or discrimination. Decisions concern conduct and offers, not arbitrary judgements about people.

MTP never requests a recovery phrase or private key. Any necessary supporting documents must not be published in a listing or collected without a defined purpose. Data collected must be limited to what is necessary, protected and retained for documented periods.

9. Entry into effect

Users must be able to read the charter before accepting it. Its version and acceptance date will be recorded; significant changes will be notified. This charter supplements, without replacing, the legal notice, terms of use, commercial terms and privacy policy.

The operator's legal identity, reporting and complaint contacts, contractual arrangements and payment process must be finalised before opening. The public name “MTP moderation” describes a function; it does not exempt the operator from identifying itself in the legal notice.

Seller status and registration remain to be determined. VAT, invoicing, mediation and platform obligations will be established according to the activities actually launched. Payment in MTP provides no exemption. Commercial terms must cover withdrawal where applicable, online procedures, warranties and refunds; this charter does not replace those terms.
